About Me

Hi, I’m Arielle! I am a STEM tutor based in Irvine, California. For the past seven years, I have had the pleasure of helping over 60 high school and college students feel confident in their academic abilities and succeed in their courses. I base my pedagogical approach in understanding that every student learns differently. Therefore, I tailor my tutoring sessions to accommodate the learning capabilities of each student.

FAQ

  • How is The Study Nook different from other tutoring services?

    The Study Nook provides an integrated, one-on-one tutoring experience where I let the student’s continually changing academic needs guide my sessions. In addition, I look to identify my students’ most proficient way of learning, and implement different teaching approaches that best accommodate each students’ learning preference to ensure continual academic progress.

  • Do you tutor in-person or online?

    Generally, I tutor online via Google Meet. In-person sessions are available around the Irvine, CA area upon request.

    Send me your course number and syllabus - I’ll let you know right away if it is a fit!

  • How do I schedule a session?

    Choose one way to get started: fill out the intake form with your classes, goals, or questions, or book a free 15-minute introductory call with me if you would prefer to talk. You do not need to do both. If The Study Nook is a good fit, I’ll work with you to schedule tutoring sessions.

  • How much is each session?

    AP courses: $70 / hour College courses: $80 / hour I accept payments either through Zelle or Venmo.

  • How long are tutoring sessions?

    Generally, tutoring sessions are weekly, one-hour meetings. Depending on a student’s academic needs, some students may schedule multiple weekly sessions. Alternatively, my college students may schedule two-hour sessions to prepare for upcoming midterms or finals. I typically do not allow high school students to schedule sessions exceeding one-hour.

  • What is your rescheduling/cancellation policy?

    Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule or cancel your session. Late cancellations may be charged for the session.

We’ll discuss your classes, current grades, and goals, from exam preparation to building confidence. I’ll answer questions about rates, weekly scheduling, and how online tutoring or in-person sessions around Irvine work. Parents, high school students, and college students are all welcome.
